Colonel Bleep
began production at Miami's Soundac Studios in 1956 and was the first color cartoon made for television. It originally entered syndication in 1957 as part of "Uncle Bill's TV Club", a franchised children's show concept featuring a local kiddie show host, and went on to became a staple on local TV stations well into the early 1970's.

Colonel Bleep told the story of the title character, an interplanetary intelligence agent for the planet Futura, and his space deputies Squeek, a happy-go-lucky puppet-boy, and Scratch, a caveman who fell asleep until the first atomic explosion blew him from the past into the present.

From their earth headquarters on Zero Zero Island, Colonel Bleep, Squeek and Scratch battled intergalactic villains such as Doctor Destructo, the master criminal of the universe, The Black Knight,  and Captain Patch, a displaced pirate.
