The New Adventures Of Huck Finn

In 1968, Hanna-Barbera borrowed the famous Mark Twain characters, plucked them from the Mississippi River, and thrust them into various make-believe fantasy worlds in this live-action/animated series.

Michael Shea appeared as Huck Finn, Lu Ann Haslam was Becky Thatcher, and Kevin Schultz was Tom Sawyer, the only live actors in the series. They were superimposed over animated backgrounds, running for their lives from the animated Injun Joe (voiced by Ted 'Lurch' Cassidy).

The series premiered September 15, 1968 on NBC-TV, airing Sunday evenings at 7:00pm/6:00pm central. The series failed to find it's audience and left the air on September 7, 1969. It was syndicated as part of the Banana Splits and Friends series.
